James L. Cristol, M.D.

•General Ophthalmology

Dr. Cristol is a general ophthalmologist with years of experience diagnosing and treating all types of eye conditions. He has held numerous teaching positions training physicians in the specialty of ophthalmology, and has also co-authored numerous articles on topics relating to many areas of the eye.

General ophthalmologists play a vital role in the picture of complete quality eye care. When patients come to Soll Eye Associates for a regularly scheduled eye checkup, they rely on the skill of their doctor to identify any irregularities in their eyes. This requires the doctor to have a vast and thorough knowledge of the healthy eye, along with the ability to recognize any subtle changes in the eye and what each change means.

Many patients are familiar with the most common eye problems, such as cataracts and glaucoma, but there are scores of disorders of the eyes and of the body that a well trained general ophthalmologist will identify and guide treatment as necessary.
